Why it was formed: The electric workers believed that the job was difficult, hours were long, and the pay was not enough. They risk their lives and wanted more for putting a lot of effort.
Number of members: 750,000 as of 2013.
Mission of Union: To promote fair methods of work, settle all problems with employers and employees, help when sick or in distress, job security, and fair pay.
Recent Issue: More than one million workers have been without work for more than 6 months, So President Obama assembled a meeting which included IBEW to help find jobs for the unemployed.
